"Ise Traditions through Craftsmanship" offers a special time to experience the skills of craftspeople. Craftsmen will teach you how to make things and you can experience making things together. Please enjoy your time as a memory of your trip.
We will guide you through three experience programs
Make your own mini kakejiku
In this program, you will be able to write a piece of calligraphy and use it to make your own original kakejiku (hanging scroll). Let your brush glide on the washi (traditional Japanese paper) and experience the art and beauty of Japanese calligraphy.
Activity &material fee: ¥7,000 (plus tax) / person
Duration: Approximately 2 hours


Make your own goshuin book
In this program, you will be able to make your own goshuin (temple stamp) book. Choose a cover of your preference, fold the scroll of paper and carefully bind them together. Learn the profoundness of these delicately made books.
Activity & material fee: ¥5,000 (plus tax) / person
Duration: Approximately 1.5 hours
Japanese tea ceremony experience
In this program, you will be able to learn the refined manners and philosophy of Japanese tea ceremony under guidance of a tea ceremony master. Get exposed to and capture the core of Japanese culture.
